Return to purpose

I’ve been going to 60 minutes in space at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science each month. It’s a free monthly lecture program where I learn about the latest space news 🤓. Something I became aware of during last night’s talk deeply saddened me. 

A company in California wants to send giant mirrors into space so that they can reflect sunlight onto the night side of Earth, to power solar panels, among other things. Their application to the Federal Communications Commission is awaiting approval. They want to send two test mirrors (satellites that would orbit earth) this year, then tens of thousands in coming years. What saddens me is the lack of concern for nocturnal creatures that we share this Earth with and the disregard for long term affects of having hundreds of thousands of satellites in orbit around the Earth, essentially polluting our night sky with constant movement.

I was in a state of despair this morning. My thoughts found momentum down the road of F CAPITALISM and the toxic systems its values trap us in. Hopelessness wins when we believe cash is king and all people want is money and power. These narratives are popular but not true.

People want to feel whole.

Currently, people mostly go about finding wholeness within the paradigm of consumerism. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

After meditation and prayer, I was gently guided to my purpose. Something concrete to focus on. A meaningful aim to feed with my attention and energy, to counterbalance the news that sent me spinning out. Aware of the fear inducing shit show that is…I choose Christ Consciousness (fun side note nuclear fusion reactions were talked about last night as well…the coming together of elementary particles…promising energy source that is not dangerous like nuclear fission, which is the splitting of atoms…a case for unity over division 🤍).
